Support

Setup guides for each supported simulator, fixes for the problems that actually come up, and a place to ask when none of it helps.

What you need

  • A Windows 10 or 11 PC (64-bit). This is the machine that runs your simulator and the Connector.
  • A supported game. Assetto Corsa Competizione on that PC, or Gran Turismo 7 on a PS5 on the same network.
  • Any second screen with a browser. A tablet, phone, or second monitor. Nothing to install there: Overcut is a web app, so you open a URL and it works.
  • A free Overcut account. Used to pair your devices and keep your history together.

Download the Connector

The Overcut Connector is a small Windows application that reads telemetry from your simulator and streams it to your browser. It runs on the same PC as your game.

Want to verify the installer before running it? Check it on the Trust Center.

Setting up your simulator

The two supported games reach the Connector in different ways, so the setup differs. Neither needs a capture card or a wiring change.

Assetto Corsa Competizione

Windows shared memory, same PC

  1. Install and start Overcut Connector on the Windows PC that runs ACC.
  2. Launch ACC and enter any session, including a single-player practice run.
  3. The Connector detects ACC on its own. There is no setting to enable inside the game.
  4. Open overcut.gg on the device you want to watch on, sign in, and follow the connection prompt.

ACC publishes telemetry through Windows shared memory, so the Connector has to run on the same machine as the game. It cannot read ACC across the network.

Gran Turismo 7

PS5 UDP broadcast, same local network

  1. Put the PS5 and the PC running Overcut Connector on the same local network.
  2. Enable the UDP telemetry option in the GT7 settings.
  3. Start Overcut Connector on the PC. It listens for the broadcast and detects GT7 automatically.
  4. Open overcut.gg on your tablet or phone, sign in, and follow the connection prompt.

GT7 broadcasts over your network, so no capture card and no cable between the console and the PC are needed. If your router separates wireless clients (often called AP isolation or guest mode), the broadcast will not reach the PC.

Troubleshooting

Nearly every failed connection is one of the following. They are listed roughly in the order the setup can break.

The dashboard cannot reach the Connector

The Connector is not running, or it is running on a different PC than the one with the game. Start Overcut Connector on your racing PC and leave it open while you drive. It has to be running before the dashboard can pair with it.

The Connector is running but no simulator is detected

Make sure the game is actually in a session, not sitting on the main menu. Overcut currently reads ACC, GT7, AMS2 and iRacing only, so any other title will report as unsupported rather than as an error.

Windows Firewall is blocking the connection

The first time the Connector runs, Windows asks whether to allow it on your network. If that prompt was dismissed or denied, the local connection stays blocked. Allow Overcut Connector through Windows Firewall on private networks, then retry the connection.

The pairing link or QR code stopped working

Pairing links are deliberately short-lived so an old link cannot be reused to reach your Connector. Open a fresh one from the Connector and scan or click it again.

Everything says connected, but the dashboard is empty

Telemetry starts flowing when the car does. Sitting in the pits or on a paused replay produces no frames. Drive out of the pit box and the values populate within a second.

GT7 is running but the Connector never sees it

Confirm the UDP telemetry option is enabled in GT7, and that the PS5 and PC are on the same subnet. A VPN active on the PC, or a router that isolates wireless clients from each other, will both silently swallow the broadcast.

A message says the Connector is out of date

The dashboard still works, but newer telemetry fields may be missing. Download the current build and reinstall over the top. Your local session history is kept.

Windows shows a SmartScreen warning during install

This is a reputation prompt, not a detection of anything harmful. Before running the installer you can check its SHA-256 against the published hash, review the VirusTotal report, and read exactly what the Connector does on your PC. All three are on the Trust Center.

It says you are working offline

Local telemetry, lap history, and session analysis keep working without a connection, because that work happens on your PC. Cloud sync resumes once you are back online. If the offline session has expired, sign in again to restore cloud features.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to install anything on my phone or tablet?
No install required on your viewing device. Overcut works as a web app: open the URL in Safari or Chrome and it just works. A small Connector app runs on the same Windows PC as your simulator.
How do I connect Gran Turismo 7?
Enable the UDP telemetry option in GT7's settings, ensure your PS5 and PC are on the same network, and start the Overcut Connector. It detects GT7 automatically, no cable or capture card needed.
Which simulators does Overcut support?
Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC): Windows shared memory. Gran Turismo 7 (GT7): PS5 UDP broadcast on your local network. Automobilista 2 (AMS2): Windows shared memory or UDP. iRacing: iRacing SDK shared memory. More simulators are in build: Le Mans Ultimate, rFactor 2 and Assetto Corsa.
How does remote coaching work?
Your coach receives a link. When they open it, they see your telemetry live: speed, brakes, track position, everything, from anywhere with internet access. No account required for the coach.
Does Overcut upload my telemetry to the cloud?
Nothing is uploaded unless you turn it on. The Connector processes everything locally and your session files stay on your PC. There are two opt-in exceptions: cohort benchmarks send anonymized lap summaries, and live coach view streams your telemetry through a private link while you drive - a relay that passes frames through without recording them.
Is Overcut free?
A free account gives you local telemetry, live coaching, lap replay, and race standings. Pro cloud features (cross-device sync, extended session history) are available on a paid plan.
